Looking Back with Gratitude: Our Final Roadshow for the Year
As we wrap up our final Roadshow for the year, we have been reflecting on the incredible journey we have taken across our region. Each stop has brought new stories, new connections, and new opportunities to sit alongside people in community. Every conversation has reminded us why this work matters. People continue to open their doors, share their experiences, and invite us into their lives with honesty and generosity. That is something we never take for granted.
Throughout the year we visited towns large and small, from the coast to the forest and everywhere in between. We have sat with parents, young people, Elders, workers, carers, and community members with disability who shared what is working and what needs to change. We have listened to people who have navigated the NDIS for years, as well as people who are trying to access support for the first time. We have laughed, learned, and sometimes cried together. These moments shape the way we continue to advocate and the way we design our projects.
One of the greatest privileges of this job is that each Roadshow is a two way exchange. We share information, knowledge, tools, and skills, but we learn just as much in return. Community wisdom is powerful. It helps us understand the real lived experiences behind the systems and policies. Your stories guide the way we plan for the year ahead.
As 2025 comes to a close, we want to say thank you. Thank you to every person who came along, every person who asked a question, every service provider who partnered with us, and every community that welcomed us with such kindness. Your voices shape our direction and your feedback strengthens our advocacy.
