Self-Advocacy Mini Workshops

Self-advocacy is about knowing your rights, having your say, and feeling confident to make decisions in your own life. At AdvocacyWA, we know that speaking up isn’t always easy but it is a skill you can learn, practice, and grow over time.

That’s why we’ve created the Self-Advocacy Mini Workshop Series: four short, online sessions designed to make self-advocacy skills easy to learn and easy to use. Each session runs for just 30 minutes, with two times to choose from on the same day, so you can join over your lunch break or later in the afternoon.

This series is the online mini version of our full face-to-face self-advocacy workshop, perfect if you can’t attend in person, or if you’d like to get a taste of the bigger program.

Why Self-Advocacy Matters

Self-advocacy is more than just speaking up — it’s about building the confidence to make choices, set boundaries, and live life on your own terms. For people with disability, strong self-advocacy skills can:

  • Make it easier to get the right supports and services
  • Build confidence in work, study, and community life
  • Improve wellbeing and independence
  • Strengthen connection to peers and community

Learning these skills in a supportive, accessible way can be life-changing. That’s why we’ve made these mini workshops free, short, and practical — so everyone has the chance to build their voice and grow their confidence.

The Self-Advocacy Mini Workshop Series is free, online, and open to people with disability across the South West. Join one session or all four — the choice is yours.
