Advocacy WA Roadshow 2026
In 2026, the Advocacy WA Roadshow is back and bigger than ever. We will be travelling across the South West and online to deliver practical, welcoming, and accessible workshops designed with and for people with disability, their families, supporters, and the wider community.
The Roadshow is about meeting people where they are. Each stop is shaped around local needs and focuses on building knowledge, confidence, and connection in a supportive environment.
Designed by People with Disability, for People with Disability
The Roadshow workshops are designed by people with disability, drawing on lived experience, community feedback, and real world knowledge. They are created for people with disability first and foremost, but everyone is welcome to attend.
Families, friends, support workers, providers, community members, and local organisations all play a role in creating inclusive communities. By learning together, we can better understand rights, access, and what respectful, person centred support looks like in practice.
Our aim is to support everyone in the South West to work together to build communities that are more inclusive, accessible, and welcoming.
What the Roadshow Is About
Each Roadshow day includes a mix of workshops and information sessions. You can come for the whole day or just join the sessions that matter most to you. There is no expectation to do everything.
Across the Roadshow, sessions may include:
• Self advocacy and speaking up with confidence
• Understanding your rights and what good support looks like
• Quality and safeguards and how to raise concerns
• Practical information about accessibility and inclusion in everyday life
At many locations, our advocacy team will also join us to share targeted information. This can include sessions on NDIS access, plan changes, reviews, and appeals, as well as information about the Disability Support Pension and navigating government systems. These sessions provide a chance to hear directly from advocates and ask questions in a supportive space.
Flexible and Person Centred
We know that one size does not fit all. That is why Roadshow sessions are designed to be flexible, inclusive, and grounded in lived experience. Information is shared in clear language, with opportunities for discussion and questions. We aim to make every session usable, respectful, and relevant.
Whether you are new to advocacy, supporting someone else, or already confident but wanting to deepen your knowledge, you are welcome.
