Your Rights, Your Support, Your Service

We believe that everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported — and that starts with knowing your rights. Too often, people with disability aren’t told what good support should look like or how to speak up when something isn’t right. This project is about changing that. One workshop is designed for participants and their support networks to learn together in a supportive, accessible way. The other is for providers to build their understanding of rights and safe, respectful service delivery.

"It's always okay to speak up."

Your Rights, Your Support, Your Services is a project funded by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, designed to build knowledge, confidence, and safer services for people with disability.

This project supports both participants and providers to understand their rights and responsibilities within the NDIS helping everyone feel more confident recognising when something isn’t right and knowing how to take action. When people feel safe and informed, we create stronger, more respectful communities.

As part of this project, we’re running two different workshops:

Workshops for NDIS Participants and Their Support Networks
These workshops are created with and for people with disability. We’ve designed them in Easy Read to ensure everyone can participate and understand the information in a clear and supportive way.

They’re also designed to be done side by side with your support network, so we strongly encourage support workers, family members, and friends to attend alongside the person they support. Together, you’ll learn about:

What good support looks like

How to recognise abuse, neglect, or unsafe situations

How to speak up, make a complaint, or get help

Where to go if something isn’t right

These sessions are interactive, practical, and inclusive designed to make everyone feel welcome, listened to, and respected.

Workshops for NDIS Providers and Teams
These provider-focused sessions are for support workers, team leaders, and frontline staff. They focus on understanding and upholding participant rights, building safer support environments, and responding appropriately when someone speaks up.

We want providers to walk away with a stronger understanding of their responsibilities  and real strategies they can use to provide better, more rights-based support.

By offering both participant and provider workshops, we’re working towards a more connected and respectful NDIS community in the South West — where rights are upheld, people feel safe, and voices are always heard.
