Self-Advocacy Workshops – Speak Up, Be Heard, and Take Charge
At Advocacy WA, we believe that everyone deserves to feel confident speaking up for themselves. That’s why we’ve created our Self-Advocacy Workshops designed to help people with disability build the skills, knowledge, and confidence to advocate for what they need, want, and deserve.
These workshops are available both in person and on demand, and come with a supportive Easy Read booklet so you can follow along at your own pace, or revisit what you’ve learned when you need a refresher.
Self-advocacy means being able to say:
“This isn’t working for me.”
“I need help with this.”
“I have the right to be treated with respect.”
Whether it’s at work, in your home, at your service provider, or in your everyday life – being able to stand up for yourself is powerful. It helps you protect your rights, communicate your needs, and live a life that reflects your choices.
We know that learning how to self-advocate can feel hard, especially when systems are confusing or people don’t listen. That’s why we’re here – to walk beside you, not just during the workshops, but anytime you need support.
But we also believe that self-advocacy is something everyone should know how to do. These workshops are a great place to start – whether you’re new to the idea or just want to sharpen your skills.
